On Saturday, staff, caregivers and family from the Gardens at Chisholm Trail participated in the 2009 Memory Walk in fort Worth. They were one of the many sponsors of the event by having a booth and handing out information, festive beads, bracelets and treats. The 3.2-mile walk followed the Trinity River, starting at La Grave Field. The Gardens team consisted of 15 people wearing shirts designed for their team. Team members were Gerald Ullrich, Nikki Bennett, Elizabeth Ledezma, Tiffany Tyer, Cindy Baxter, Joann Mathews, Sandy Davenport and Brenda Steen. Honoring their Memories....Every Step of the Way was the message. There were footprints on the back of the shirts with names inside the footprint. The names were residents of the facility, family members and friends of the walkers. Some have passed away and some are still battling the disease. A fall festival — a safe alternative for trick or treating — will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Chisholm Trail Retirement in Keene. There will be games, treats, face painting and fun for everyone. |
