Movie stars, world champion cowboys and professional athletes will all play a huge role in the 15th Annual Cowboys for Kids Benefit for the Children’s Advocacy Center serving Johnson County. 
This year’s two-day event will kick-off with the already-sold-out Cleburne Ford’s Roping the Stars Gala on Friday, April 27, at Emily and Henry Coffeen’s cutting horse ranch. The benefit will highlight 30 celebrity guests, a barbeque dinner sponsored by Halliburton, entertainment and a silent and live auction.  Entertainment this year will include Sonny Burgess, Miller Matla and Katy Stallings and Jimmy Jones.
There are two other events that still have tickets available:
• On Saturday April 22, Devon Energy’s Stick Horse Rodeo will kick-off at 11 a.m. for kids 10 and under at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Cleburne. The cost is $10 and includes a Cowboys for Kids T-shirt, contestant button and a stick horse and bandana donated by Wrangler. This will be limited to the first 100 children who are registered.
• At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Celebrity VIP event hosted by Wal-Mart of Burleson kicks off the rodeo. Many celebrities will be gathered in the white building on the Sheriff Posse Grounds to sign autographs for guests. At 7:30 p.m. the Wild Steer Saddling contest will begin. This event features three men/women teams made up either law enforcement or fire fighters and is a favorite for the crowd. Teams

from these professions can still enter at the cost of $75 per team. The Honda of Burleson PBR Bull Riding Event will kick-off immediately after the wild-steer saddling with the first bull being bucked at 8 p.m. Tickets for the PBR are available at the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce, Lone Star Ranch and Outdoors, Lee’s Western Wear, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Saturday night entertainment will also feature the Mustang Foundation’s Celebrity/Amateur Team Roping and the Harper Cattle Company Celebrity Match Roping. Some celebrity ropers and guests you can expect to see throughout the weekend are “Super Looper” Roy Cooper, Larry Mahan, Tyler Magnus, Cody Ohl, Blu Bryant, Chad Eubank, J. W. Harris, Dean Smith, Buck Taylor, Ted Nuce, Byron Walker, Jay Novacek, Barry Corbin, J’Lee, Dan Roberts, Ronnie Williams, Jessie Vick, “Rocket” Ryan Litwin, Jessie Vick, Justin Wright, Rob Sheppard, Jeff Kunkel, Howard Halbert, Charlie Throckmorton, Karl Stressman, Robert Lever, Brian Doty, Russ Weaver, Randy Watson and Kelly Riley.
More than 50 percent of the Children’s Advocacy Center’s budget is raised through these events and every dime goes toward serving child victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and child witnesses to homicides and other violent crimes.
